Peter Stefanovich
President
Before co-founding Left Lane Associates as the Managing Partner in 2016, Peter Stefanovich spent over eight years in operations and sales for Radiant Logistics (formerly Wheels Group) in Toronto and RMS, a construction and maintenance company in the Chicago area. Peter spent several years working with the Government of Canada in various capacities while attending graduate school at Carleton University. Peter’s extensive connectivity across the supply chain space continues to grow through his positions on industry boards such as the Toronto Transportation Club, Ontario Trucking Association, and the Canadian Trucking Alliance. Most recently, he has been a featured speaker at the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), Business Transitions Forum (BTF), and Benesch’s Private Equity in the Transportation & Logistics Industry Conference.

Nicholas Somos
Director - Mergers and Acquisitions, Vice President
As Director – Mergers and Acquisitions, Vice President, Nicholas leads Left Lane Associates’ investment banking team in originating and executing complex supply chain M&A transactions across the United States, Canada, and globally. In this role, Nicholas is instrumental in driving strategic growth for our firm and maximizing value for Left Lane Associates’ clients.
Nicholas joined Left Lane Associates in 2018 and has played an integral role in the growth of the firm, leading numerous supply chain transactions from $1 million – $912 million in enterprise value. Prior to his tenure at Left Lane Associates, Nicholas worked in M&A advisory and asset management holding positions at Scotiabank, 1832 Asset Management, Invesco, and others. He completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting at York University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.
Alex MacKinnon
Director - Mergers and Acquisitions
Alex joined the Left Lane Associates team in September 2021. As the fourth generation in a trucking family, it was a natural calling for Alex to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers at MacKinnon Transport. During his tenure there, Alex held many roles within the business, working his way up from cleaning the facilities to learning all the nuances of the various industry disciplines. His final role with MacKinnon Transport was as the Chief Operating Officer where he successfully led the family business through a formalized restructuring. After navigating the sale of key divisions from his family business in both 2012 and 2017, he knows first-hand what it takes to go through the sell process. Alex then continued to work in the industry with light-asset carriers in roles as Director of Sales & Business Development, Director of Strategic Initiatives, and Vice President of Operations. Alex now shares his industry knowledge and experience with Left Lane's partners through his mergers & acquisitions advisory services.
Academically, Alex attended university in West Virginia on a sports and academic scholarship. On top of acting as the captain of both the water polo and swim teams, he graduated with degrees in Business Management and International Business. Most recently in 2017, Alex obtained his Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University.
Marcin Sakowicz
Associate - Mergers and Acquisitions
Marcin joined the Left Lane Associates team in April 2022. He brings with him practical experience gained through his previous role working as a valuations analyst along with co-op placements in related businesses during university. Having graduated from the Accounting and Financial Management program at the University of Waterloo, Marcin brings a vast skillset and a hunger for the financial industry to our growing investment banking team.

Dawson Carty
Analyst - Mergers and Acquisitions
Dawson joined the Left Lane Associates team in January 2024. Holding a Master of Business Administration from the Rowe School of Business at Dalhousie University, Dawson also brings previous mergers and acquisitions experience to the team, having worked most recently as an analyst at an M&A advisory firm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Before completing his MBA, Dawson obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance from Acadia University, while playing on the men’s varsity hockey team. With his technical skillset and passion for mergers and acquisitions, Dawson is a valuable addition to our investment banking team.

Mia joined the Left Lane Associates team as a Business & Office Manager in April 2024. Holding certifications in Human Resources Management and Analytics from Wharton Executive Education, Mia has over seven years of management experience, specializing in HR policy development, strategic recruitment, and employee engagement. She has a proven track record of enhancing organizational productivity through international assignment management and stakeholder collaboration across the private equity, energy, and finance industries.

Josh Ball
Sales & Marketing Analyst
Josh joined the Left Lane Associates team in July of 2022. As a driven marketing professional with over eight years of experience in digital marketing, market research, and corporate public relations, Josh provides creative and technical expertise to lead Left Lane’s marketing initiatives. With a deep appreciation for the power of analytics to provide insight and drive thoughtful and effective communications, he works to continuously improve our clients’ reach and accuracy in effective target searches. As a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Philosophy, Josh brings an analytic approach and love of learning to every new project and initiative.
